Become a Volunteer
CFRC is always welcoming new volunteers in every capacity!
Volunteers take on roles at the station including but not limited to:
- music programming (hosts, djs)
- news and spoken word programming (hosts, writers, producers, journalists)
- audio production
- music library cataloguing
- administration (board and committees)
- promotions and outreach
CFRC holds 3 recruitment and training cycles per year in September, March and July. You can submit a volunteer application anytime for consideration during the next round of recruitment.
Click here to download an application form. Drop completed applications off at the station.
BEFORE you apply:
1. Listen to CFRC at 101.9 FM, through our live stream, or access our on-line archives. This is the best way to hear what our schedule already offers, so that you can propose something that adds to the diversity of our programming.
2. Come visit us. Drop by to check out our space and meet staff. See if the atmosphere of campus-community radio is your thing! We are more than happy to answer your questions.
3. Read our Mandate . CFRC is part of a national network of campus and community radio stations whose mandate is to provide an alternative to mainstream/commercial radio and the CBC. Our airwaves broadcast few “hits,” but lots of Canadian content, new music and spoken word. CFRC is an inclusive, flexible space that thrives on the diversity of opinions, expertise, and interests of more than 100 active volunteers.
Visit our staff page for contact information or call 613-533-2121. We look forward to hearing from you!
