We maintain the following guidelines for submissions.
• For CDs, we do not add singles. Any CD without at least 3 original tracks to contribute to our library will not be added.
• Samplers for an upcoming album will not be added. We will simply hold off for the full deal.
• A one-page bio is appreciated. This can be 2 pages maximum, and not on something thick such as card stock. The primary thing to keep in mind here is that it must fit folded with the media that it accompanies (i.e., usually inside of a CD jewel case). Anything beyond this such as duotangs, folders, press clippings, etc. are of no use and will be discarded. Please try to keep packaging to a minimum.
• As shelf real estate is finite, thinner packaging is preferred. Please don’t add unnecessary bulk such as sleeves that fit over jewel cases.
• Do not harass programmers to play your music. The request line is strictly for listeners, and not for the artists, labels, or promoters. It is a bad idea anyhow as we can tell who you are, and will be quite turned off by this approach.
Once a submission is made, we reserve the right to keep the item in review for a reasonable amount of time, and the right to reject it for reasons of our own determination (including being in violation of human rights legislation or federal broadcast regulations). If something is added, the normal process is to place it in the new releases for 2 to 3 months, where it is available to all programmers. During that time, tracking is available. After the new releases, the item will be placed in our library where it remains available to the programmers for the coming years. We offer no guarantee of airplay, and it is the individual programmers who make the final judgment about the content of their respective programs. It is worth keeping in mind that there are many new submissions competing for programmer and listener attention constantly.
